IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS AND OUR CLAIM IS STILL SITTING IN THE AUTHORIZATION DEPARTMENT!We have been calling HWA to check on the claim for almost a week and all they tell us is they are still waiting for information from the service provider. We have demanded to speak with someone from the authorization department or a supervisor. 4 different customer service representatives have promised that someone will call us back within 24 hours. Guess what?No one ever does!We have been suffering in 90 degree heat and had to spend more money on window units just so we can sleep at night. I call back on 7/23 as we could not pull our washer out on our own and decide now that we need to do the cash out and get someone who will remove the dishwasher for us. I'm told during a call in the morning that the dishwasher was already ordered and that I am stuck with this washer.

Our next call back from a “manager” is scheduled for Tuesday, because you know, 24 48 business hours. So here we wait. I do not at ALL encourage anyone to use them under any circumstances. We have had a month with no AC in the house, and a consistent temp in the house of 86 90. HWA was quick to take care of two recent claims with our A/C and our stove. However, this last claim of a leaking kitchen faucet was denied, stating the fault was due to installation. The problem with this is the faucet is leaking at the handle, which is assembled by the manufacturer. The plumber who came out saw a second leak under the sink at the supply line and told HWA that this leak could be either manufacturer defect or improper installation. HWA glommed onto the explanation of the second leak, which I didn’t even place a claim for, and denied my original claim. My choice now is to replace the faucet or rebuild. At my expense.

For example, if it includes central heating systems, but all you own is central air, you may want to see if it allows you to add central heat to your home. Updating is often covered under the extended warranty to allow you to make your home more energy efficient and environmentally sustainable. The thing that you must remember is that the systems and appliances that are covered under your warranty can vary depending on your coverage. If you chose a contract outside the warranty guidelines you void your warranty and essentially set yourself back. Always make sure that you understand what you are getting. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t hesitate to do your own research. It is an investment in your home and your future. Take it seriously and it will save you time, money, and your mental health. Read the fine print. Don’t skip through because you think you have a good idea what it says.
